Client = St Stephens chapel, Whangaparaoa

Description = Graham Lamont from St Stephens chapel approached us about supplying a Columbarium niche wall. After a number of consultations it was decided a lightweight Glassfibre reinforced concrete (GRC) wall would be the preferred option. GRC had the advantage that it could incorporate sympathetic heritage detailing, be repeatable, lightweight and fast to install. GRC also gave the parish the ability to extend the wall at a later stage along with certainty around cost. The front side of the wall was rebated to mimic traditional blockwork construction whilst the back panel was engineered to be removable to allow access to the internment niches with the use of a security tool. The finished wall was largely funded by donations and exceeded expectations by raising significant additional funds.
